Vir Das Earns Third Emmy Nomination
Real Kashmir Football Club also makes cut in Drama Series category
Comedian Vir Das has earned his third nomination at the International Emmy Awards for his Netflix special Vir Das: Fool Volume. The latest recognition adds to Das’ growing list of international accolades.
Das won the International Emmy for Comedy in 2023 for his special Vir Das: Landing, becoming the first Indian comedian to win the award. He was previously nominated in 2021 for Vir Das: For India. In 2024, he also became the first Indian to host the International Emmy Awards.
Known for his distinctive brand of observational comedy and sharp social commentary, Das has built an international audience through his stand-up specials and performances.
Talking about the nomination, Vir Das says, “I’m humbled all over again to be nominated for an International Emmy. Fool Volume is about silence — what it means to have a voice, and what happens when you actually use it. I’m deeply grateful to the jury, audiences, my team, and Netflix for giving me the space to make work I believe in. And to everyone who has laughed along the way — clearly, my delusion is contagious.”
India has received two nominations at the International Emmy Awards 2026, with Real Kashmir Football Club also nominated in the Drama Series category. The winners of the International Emmy Awards 2026 will be announced at the awards ceremony in New York on November 23.
