Daggubati Venkatesh is currently enjoying an unexpected high in the Telugu film industry. Following the success of his last two releases, Sankranthiki Vasthunam and Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, the actor has nearly doubled his remuneration.

A source close to the actor reveals, “He had been charging around Rs 12 crore for years, right up until Sankranthiki Vasthunam. We kept advising him to increase his fee, but he wouldn’t listen. Even after delivering two blockbusters, he was hesitant, citing the ongoing recession in the Telugu film industry.”

However, Venkatesh has finally given in to the pull of market demand. For his next project, Aadarsha Kutumbam House No: 47 – AK47, the actor is reportedly asking for — and receiving — Rs 22–23 crore.

This comes at a time when the Telugu film industry is grappling with a severe slowdown, and even top superstars are being urged to slash their fees.
