Teja Sajja

Teja Sajja discusses Zombie Reddy 2 and how it is taking shape as an entertainer packed with special effects. After HanuMan and Mirai, your audience is waiting for a hat trick from you! (Laughs) I’m waiting too! But you know, success, stardom, all that isn’t permanent. I am as prone to failure as to success.

What is your next release?

It is Zombie Reddy 2, the sequel to the 2021 hit Zombie Reddy. We are working hard on making the sequel even more entertaining than the first film.

Ranveer Singh is doing a zombie film too, isn’t he?

Yes, but Zombie Reddy 2 will be very different from Pralay. Our film is in the comic zone.

Are you playing a zombie in the film?

I can’t tell you that right now.

What you can tell me is about your co-star?

Shanaya Kapoor is a joy to work with. Very focussed. Very dedicated. She comes early to the sets to learn her lines, since Telugu is not her language.

Do you think Telugu is the toughest Indian language?

No. Malayalam is. But Telugu is super-tough if it’s not your mother tongue. Shanaya is determined to prove herself as an actor.

Do you think Zombie 2 will do the trick for her?

I hope it does the trick for both of us. We are working really hard on the special effects.

Interesting that your three most successful films so far — Zombie Reddy, HanuMan and Mirai — are FX-driven!

It is the need of the hour. But I want to do a full-fledged love story about feelings, not effects.
