Actress Preity Mukhundhan, who was recently seen in the Telugu film Kannappa, is reportedly set to play the daughter of megastar Chiranjeevi in his upcoming 158th film, to be directed by Bobby Kolli. According to a source, Preity has been finalised. “Preity has been signed up. She has the innocence and charm required for the character. There will be some strong emotional scenes between the father and daughter in the film,” the source says.
Preity made her film debut with the Telugu-language horror-comedy Om Bheem Bush. She later played one of the leads in the 2024 Tamil coming-of-age romantic drama Star. She has also appeared in the Malayalam film Sarvam Maya, among others.
Earlier, reports suggested that Krithi Shetty was being considered for the role. However, the source dismisses the speculation, stating, “We never even had Krithi Shetty in mind.”
Director Bobby Kolli earlier delivered a blockbuster with Waltair Veerayya, which struck a chord with audiences through its emotionally charged portrayal of estranged brothers played by Chiranjeevi and Ravi Teja. This time, the filmmaker is said to be focusing on a strong father-daughter emotional arc in what is described as an action-adventure film. Chiranjeevi is reportedly set to play a gangster in the movie.
