If Geetu Mohandas’ Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups was intended to provoke the nation and its watchdogs, it has succeeded. Already mired in controversy, the teaser has now drawn protests from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Women’s Wing, which has submitted a complaint to the Karnataka State Women’s Commission alleging that the teaser contains “obscene visuals” that could negatively influence women, children, and Karnataka’s cultural values.

Following the protests, the makers have decided to remove the intimate car scene featuring lead actor Yash and a Caucasian woman, played by Natalie Burn, from the teaser.

While Yash has remained unavailable for a comment, a source close to the actor says he was taken aback by the reaction. “He knew the film is not conventional, and he had never done an intimate scene on screen before. But since a woman was at the helm, he agreed,” the source said.
