From Selfie Snub to Social Slap: Kangana Takes Aim at Jaya

Kangana Ranaut has reacted strongly to fellow actress and MP Jaya Bachchan’s behaviour with a man who tried to click a selfie without permission, and word is that the Bachchan family, including the Big B, has taken serious offence over Kangana’s social media post.

“Most spoilt and privileged woman. People put up with her tantrums/nonsense just because she is @amitabhbachchanji’s wife. That samajwadi topi looks like a rooster comb, while she looks like a rooster cock!! Such disgrace and shame,” Kangana posted on Instagram.

She was reacting to Jaya Bachchan pushing away the man who clicked the selfie at the Constitution Club, Delhi, on August 12.

A source very close to the Bachchans said, that the family was particularly offended by the comments on how Jaya Bachchan looked and what she wore, and does not want to let the slight slide. Amitabh Bachchan, who has in the past shown some warmth to Kangana, is also of the view that this time, the actress had gone too far, the source said.

Jaya and her public outbursts

Jaya Bachchan has a reputation for losing her cool in public, particularly with paparazzi and unruly fans, and has received both brickbats and support for her behaviour. The latest incident is no exception. In 2022, a paparazzo stumbled while trying to click her and her granddaughter, Navya Naveli Nanda. Jaya said, “Serves you right. I hope you double up and fall.”

While a large number of netizens have criticised her, some feel she had the right to react as she did. A National Award-winning actress said, “Jaya Bachchan is an institution and should not be spoken of in such a distasteful way.”
