Family Rift Exposed As Akshaye’s Comeback Is Met With Silence
The younger Khanna brother’s return to the limelight goes unacknowledged by Rahul, pointing to a decades-long estrangement that deepened after Vinod Khanna’s passing
Normally, it is family that shares one’s joy and sorrow before others join in. Yet Akshaye Khanna’s triumphant return to stardom has gone conspicuously unacknowledged by his brother Rahul Khanna.
Rahul, who is otherwise extremely active on social media, has not posted a single tweet or comment celebrating Akshaye’s acclaimed comeback with Dhurandhar. There has been no public mention of either his brother or the film.
A close friend of Akshaye Khanna hints at a long-standing rift between the Khanna brothers. “The brothers were never close. In recent years, they don’t even talk to each other. During his lifetime, Vinod Khanna tried repeatedly to bring his two sons together. However, Rahul and Akshaye — Akshaye being the younger — are both loners. After their father’s death, they stopped speaking to each other altogether.”
As for Rahul and Akshaye’s stepbrother Sakshi, there is no sign of the youngest Khanna sibling either. Sakshi had made a desperate attempt to launch his career some years ago, but quietly vanished from the public eye soon after.
