Hyderabad:Sporting XI emerged winners of the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s ‘A’ Division League Championship with a commanding 227-run victory over Jai Hanuman on Friday.

Batting first, they posted 405/8 from 90 overs before dismissing their opponents for 178 in 47.3 overs. The result was built around a dominant team total and disciplined bowling, with A. Varun Goud and B. Rathan Teja both claiming three wickets.



Rohit Rayudu top-scored with 70 for Jai Hanuman, but Sporting’s bowling attack kept the chase from developing, with Varun Goud producing particularly economical figures of 3/4.

In the ‘B’ Division, Rohit XI advanced to the final after defending 245/8 against Mahadev, who were dismissed for 157 in 64.2 overs. Minumula Karthik anchored the Rohit XI innings with 87 while Gone Vivek Gagan contributed 47 and A. Sai Chandra remained unbeaten on 44.

Rohit XI’s bowling was led by Pranav Manjunath Nayak, who claimed 3/48. Mahadev’s K. Pavan Kumar returned the best bowling figures of the match with 4/52.

The ‘C’ Division produced a strong run-scoring display, led by an exceptional unbeaten 160 from K. Sai Charan, who struck 21 fours from 140 balls for SN Group. M. Vamshi Reddy also cleared three figures with 121 from 91 balls for Dhruv XI while RD Sree Charan’s unbeaten 120 from 134 balls and Jai Rohan’s 119 from 143 balls added further weight to a prolific batting round. Sirgi Reddy Harish and Rishi Rathod Ramavath completed the century-makers with unbeaten 106 and 101 respectively.

Bowling excellence was headed by two six-wicket hauls — G. Sai Chandra returned 6/17 in 9.1 overs for Universal, while CH Tarun claimed 6/22 in 7.2 overs for Vijay. Sai Arjun Krishna added 5/20 for Youth while J. Jagathveer Raj Nayak and Mohd Shehzad Tayyab also collected five-wicket hauls.

The division also featured several emphatic chases. Walker Town raced to victory with 138/1 in only 13.1 overs after Universal were dismissed for 132, while HCA District-1 chased 132 in 18.2 overs. Rushiraj reached 193/9 in 35.3 overs to edge Raju Cricket Academy, and Heeradhi successfully chased 212 in 45 overs.
