Virat Kohli, who’s synonymous with the IPL franchise RCB said that he was “so happy to be playing in this group” after Royal Challengers Bengaluru continued its winning streak with their second consecutive IPL title at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

Kohli scored an unbeaten 75 off 42 balls with nine fours and three sixes to contribute to the team’s winning the IPL final.

In the speech at the presentation ceremony affer the finals against Gujarat Titans, Kohli said, “I feel so happy to play in a group where we have balance, we have strength, and we have an all-round strong team. That’s why we have the confidence we have on the field right now,” Kohli told broadcasters after the match.

Kohli said that the team had not felt the same pressure to win the title in 2026 after securing its first title last year. “It doesn’t feel like there’s same pressure as we had last year. We topped the table and said we’re the best if we execute our plans,” he said.

He noted that though the team had a period of struggle in the middle of the season, it had bounced back in fine fashion in order to secure the title. “After the break we had a couple of losses. I mean, one loss and then we had a close win against MI. I’d say that week for us was a bit tricky because we wanted to finish top. But as soon as we got that win against MI, the belief kicked back in,” he said.

Kohli also praised the playing group for consistently performing, noting that the shared contributions helped take the pressure off.

“Just to have a group of guys where you feel like you’re stepping onto the ground, you don’t need to be the one to step up every time. There’s guys behind you, around you, who can win games of cricket for you. We have so many Player of the Match awards spread throughout the group as well,” he noted.

“I mean, you look at world-class bowling like Hoff, Bhuv, Duff. I mean, Krunal Pandya, you know, you can bank on him as good as ever. Rasikh Dar was brilliant this season. All the batsmen chipped in as well.”
