Hyderabad: The second edition of Doctors’ Indian Pickleball League (DIPL) will be held in Hyderabad from November 7 to December 19 at Crosscourts in Gandipet.

Doctors from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and other regions are participating in the competition. To boost the League’s popularity through a team-oriented approach, the competition focuses on team events rather than individual categories. In the initial phase, teams will face each other in a round-robin format. Following the round-robin matches, the top four teams in the League standings will qualify for the Playoffs. The top two teams will have two opportunities to reach the final, while the teams finishing third and fourth will compete in an Eliminator match.
Only registered medical practitioners holding an MBBS degree are eligible to play in this gender-neutral tournament. Each team must consist of at least five players, including a mandatory minimum of one female player. Doctors interested in competing in the League can register their names and teams via phone number 9441981298 before October 31.
“I believed that incorporating sports into doctors’ lifestyles would improve both their health and life expectancy. With this in mind, I conceptualised the Doctors’ Indian Pickleball League. I am confident that Pickleball will have a positive long-term impact on doctors’ lifestyles and overall health,” DIPL founder Dr Ravi Andrews said.
