Mumbai: Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag is known for his strong sense of humour and hard-hitting statements directed mainly to his Pakistani counterparts.

While playing for Team India, the ‘Sultan of Multan’ has encountered fiery contests with Pakistan and emerged triumphant on many occasions.

Sehwag, who made his commentary debut in the recently concluded ICC World T20, made headlines with his banter with former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar. Viru and Akhtar have been engaged in scores of swordplay and this time around too the situation hasn’t changed.

Soon after Sardar Singh-led Indian hockey team hammered Pakistan 5-1 in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup on Tuesday, Viru didn’t waste any time to poke fun at the ‘Rawalpindi Express’.

“Sorry Shoaib bhai hockey mein bhi mauka haath se nikal gaya (sorry brother Shoaib, even in hockey the mauka has evaded you), Sehwag tweeted.

‘Mauka’ was in reference to the famous advertisement before every World Cup where a Pakistan fan is shown expecting his team would finally end the winless streak against India in both the 50-over and T20 World Cups.

The 40-year-old Akhtar however, took all of Viru’s antics sportingly. "Whatever my brother Viru say he's forgiven..bcoz he has heart of gold and he doesn't mean bad but he's funny I'll give him that..." Shoaib replied.
