Villagers Urge Action Against Tallarampur VDC
Goud community members alleged that 39 Gouds and 10 Dalits faced social boycott in Tallarampur and sought an inquiry into the claims.
Members of the Goud community have alleged that 39 Gouds and 10 Dalits were subjected to social boycott in Tallarampur village of Yergatla mandal, allegedly by members of a Village Development Committee (VDC).
Addressing a press conference at the Nizamabad Press Club on Sunday, the Goud community members alleged that the VDC had been using its influence to harass and exert pressure on villagers. They claimed that families facing the alleged social boycott were suffering socially and financially.
The community members said repeated complaints had been made to officials regarding the alleged harassment, but no effective action had been taken so far. They urged the authorities to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the allegations and ascertain the facts.
They also appealed to officials to ensure protection for the affected families and restore a peaceful atmosphere in the village. They demanded that legal action be initiated against the VDC members if the allegations of social boycott were found to be true.
They stressed that every citizen was entitled to constitutional rights and that no person should be socially ostracised on the basis of caste or any other reason. Tallapalli Raja Goud, B. Narsa Goud, Prashanth Goud, Shyam Sundar Goud, C.S. Laxma Goud, Shankar Goud and others were present.
