Hyderabad: A major tragedy was averted at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad on Wednesday morning, when a Vijayawada-bound flight made an emergency landing after developing a technical snag soon after takeoff. All 45 passengers on board are reported to be safe.
The aircraft, operated by Fly91 Airlines, left Hyderabad for Vijayawada on Wednesday morning. Shortly after takeoff, the pilot reportedly noticed a technical problem in the aircraft. The pilot immediately alerted Air Traffic Control (ATC) and turned the aircraft back toward Hyderabad. The flight then made a safe emergency landing at Shamshabad airport.
The pilot's alertness and swift decision-making are being credited with avoiding a potential disaster. Details of the technical fault and when the flight will resume its journey to Vijayawada are yet to be released.
