Union Minister’s Son Taken Into Custody
Police said Bhageerath cooperated with investigators.
Hyderabad:Union minister’s son Bandi Bhageerath, accused in a Pocso case, was taken into police custody for questioning on Wednesday.
Pet Basheerabad police escorted Bhageerath from Cherlapally Central Prison and produced him at Osmania General Hospital. After doctors declared him fit, he was taken to a farmhouse in Moinabad for recreation of the crime scene.
The SIT, led by DCP Ritiraj along with Pet Basheerabad SHO Vijaya Vardhan and staff, recorded Bhageerath’s statement. Officials questioned him about deleting data from his iPhone and examined retrieved call records and GPS location details from the day the 17‑year‑old victim lodged her complaint alleging repeated sexual assault.
Police said Bhageerath cooperated with investigators. He was later escorted back to Cherlapally Central Prison and will be taken into custody again for further questioning.
