Thousands Join Jagannath Rath Yatra In Armoor
The Rath Yatra passed through the main roads of the town. Iskcon officials said similar yatras will be organised at Basheerabad on July 17, Indalwai on July 18, Bodhan on July 19, Navipet on July 20, Nandipet on July 22 and Nizamabad on July 24.
NIZAMABAD, SANGAREDDY: Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra Mahotsavam was held in Armoor town of Nizamabad district on Thursday, with thousands of devotees participating in the procession organised by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (Iskcon).
The Rath Yatra passed through the main roads of the town. Iskcon officials said similar yatras will be organised at Basheerabad on July 17, Indalwai on July 18, Bodhan on July 19, Navipet on July 20, Nandipet on July 22 and Nizamabad on July 24. Iskcon Kanteshwar president Ramananda Raya Gaur Das, Swamy Yadav and others were present.
In Sangareddy, TPCC working president and former MLA T. Jayaprakash Jagga Reddy attended the Rath Yatra as chief guest and offered prayers before flagging off the procession.
The procession commenced from the new bus stand and passed through main streets before concluding at PSR Garden, with devotees participating in large numbers.
Iskcon volunteers distributed tirtha and prasadam along the route. Cultural performances, including Kolatam by women devotees, were part of the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Jagga Reddy appreciated the organisers for conducting the Rath Yatra regularly and promoting spiritual activities. Armoor MLA Paidi Rakesh Reddy also attended the event.
