TGTDC to Upgrade Haritha Hotels to Star-Hotel Standards

Hyderabad:The Telangana Tourism Development Corporation (TGTDC) said it would upgrade its Haritha Hotels with a focus on food quality, hygiene, accommodation, maintenance and guest services. TGTDC managing director Gowthami Pujari has been conducting surprise inspections of Haritha Hotels to their condition. As part of the enforcement measures, departmental action was initiated against the unit manager of Haritha Hotel, Vikarabad, for lapses in maintaining the required standards.
During the inspections, particular emphasis is being placed on kitchen hygiene and food quality, according to a statement. The corporation has directed hotel units not to compromise on prescribed standards and said action would be taken against personnel found negligent.
To strengthen monitoring, TGTDC said it was installing CCTV-based live monitoring systems in the kitchens of all Haritha Hotel units for continuous monitoring of food preparation, kitchen hygiene and staff activities. In another initiative, the corporation is implementing an automated booking system through which visitors will be able to check room availability and make reservations online.
