TGSRTC's Daily UPI Collections Rise from Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 2.5 Crore

According to TGSRTC, the corporation generated Rs. 505.95 crore through UPI transactions in just 11 months.

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) is adopting new strategies to make digital ticket payments more convenient for passengers travelling on RTC buses. Lakhs of commuters are opting for UPI-based payments and it resulted in huge digital transactions.

According to TGSRTC, the corporation generated Rs. 505.95 crore through UPI transactions in just 11 months. It also stated that its daily UPI collections have increased significantly, from around Rs. 2,000 to nearly Rs. 2.5 crore, highlighting the growing acceptance of cashless payments among passengers.

The corporation said it remains committed to promoting cashless transactions while ensuring greater transparency, faster services, and enhanced passenger convenience. It added that it will continue to upgrade its technology and introduce more efficient digital services across the state.

TGSRTC Executive Director M. Rajashekhar said the steady increase in UPI payments reflects the trust passengers have placed in the corporation's digital initiatives. He noted that commuters earlier faced difficulties due to the lack of exact change, but TGSRTC has now emerged as a model for digital payments in public transport. He added that the corporation is working towards achieving 100 per cent cashless travel in the coming days.
