TGBIE Imposes Penalties on Private Junior Colleges

During the verification of documents, the irregularities came to limelight through reports submitted by HYDRAA.

Hyderabad:The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education has imposed a fine of Rs 8 lakh on each of the 45 private junior colleges which allegedly submitted fake fire no-objection certificates by forging signatures of the HYDRAA commissioner for obtaining affiliation.

During the verification of documents, the irregularities came to limelight through reports submitted by HYDRAA.

In addition, the board also imposed penalities ranging from 1 lakh to 10 lakh on more than 95 private junior colleges for violating norms. Officials said during the inspections by task force teams found irregularities including colleges running without proper approvals.

The colleges were also penalised for shortage of faculty, laboratories and other facilities required for affiliation.
