4 SHOs, 3 SIs Suspended Over Sexual Misconduct

Hyderabad:During the past four years since 2022, four SHOs — including U. Srinivasulu Reddy, former SHO of Jubilee Hills — and three sub-inspectors in Telangana have been suspended on charges of having improper physical relations with women.
In July 2026, SI Shaik Nagul Meera of Borabanda police station was suspended after his wife lodged a complaint about his relationship with a woman constable, despite earlier administrative counselling.
In May 2026, SI Suresh Kumar of Kollur police station, Sangareddy district, was suspended and later arrested by Kukatpally police after a woman constable alleged he had developed a relationship with her under a false promise of marriage, though he was already married.

In March 2024, SI Venkat Rao, attached to the District Crime Record Bureau (DCRB), was suspended on charges of misbehaving with a woman constable during his earlier posting as SI of Kodimial police station in Jagtial district.
In 2022, Koratla Nageswara Rao, former SHO of Marredpally police station, was arrested and dismissed from service after charges of rape and kidnap were proved against him in a departmental inquiry.
In November 2023, Vanasthalipuram police arrested inspector Guntrapally Raju after his wife caught him in a car with another woman and alerted police. When intervened by a patrol team, Raju assaulted constable Venugopal and refused to undergo a breath-analyser test, leading to his detention and arrest. He had earlier misled his wife by claiming he was on bandobast duty for the Munugode election.
