The state government will offer special incentives to contractors who complete Indiramma Towers ahead of schedule, with a reward of ₹45 lakh for finishing a project one month before the deadline and ₹90 lakh for completing it two months early, housing minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said on Tuesday. He said the incentives aimed to speed up construction of one lakh flats under Indiramma Towers scheme in Hyderabad Core Urban Region (CURE) limits and ensure handover to beneficiaries within a year.

The government has fixed a one-year deadline for completing the Indiramma Towers, he added. The minister was speaking after laying the foundation for Indiramma Towers at Gajularamaram in Quthbullapur Assembly constituency on Tuesday.

Srinivas Reddy said the government would take up construction of Indiramma Towers as a continuous process in 23 Assembly constituencies. In Quthbullapur, the scheme had received more than 7,000 applications of which 5,218 were found eligible after scrutiny. Of these, 480 beneficiaries were selected through an open lucky draw.

He said the beneficiary selection process was conducted transparently through an online system and details of how houses were allotted to each beneficiary would be shared with them along with the relevant documents.

The minister said the allocation of the present batch of houses would not mark the end of the programme and construction would be taken up in three more phases. Around 7.5 acres of land was currently available in the constituency, while other government and housing department land would also be identified for constructing houses for the poor. He said instructions had already been issued to senior Housing department officials in this regard.

Srinivas Reddy said quality would be given the highest priority in the construction of the houses and urged beneficiaries to regularly monitor the works. The objective was to ensure that beneficiaries could watch their houses being constructed and eventually enjoy the satisfaction of owning quality homes, he said.
