Hyderabad: The state government has been urged to reissue and publish notifications of all Waqf properties under the Waqf Act, 1995.
Sajjada Nasheen of Dargah Balkonda Shareef and Telangana State Waqf Board member Abul Fateh Syed Bandagi Badshah Quadri said on Monday that second survey notifications remain pending and must be incorporated into the Gazette. They attributed the delay to the non-release of funds by the state government for printing and publication of the Gazette.
They said that once the process is completed, the remaining waqf properties should be notified without further delay. They also said the Waqf Board must place clarity before the Supreme Court, noting that the Court has restricted the jurisdiction of waqf tribunals and ruled that tribunals can adjudicate only those properties that are duly notified as auqaf under the Waqf Act, 1995.
