KAZIPET: Train services were disrupted for nearly an hour near Kazipet railway station on Saturday after an overhead power line snapped, affecting the movement of several express and goods trains.

Railway officials suspended train movements in the affected section as a precautionary measure after the overhead electric wire supplying power to the tracks snapped.

Several express and goods trains were detained at different locations, leaving passengers waiting inside the trains.

Railway officials and maintenance staff rushed to the spot and took up repair work. The damaged overhead electrical line and power supply were restored after nearly an hour.

Following safety checks, railway authorities cleared the section for train movement. The detained trains subsequently resumed their journeys towards their respective destinations.

Officials said services were restored after the technical fault was rectified, though the incident caused delays and inconvenience to passengers travelling through the Kazipet section.
