Telangana SIR Drive: 45.2 Lakh Voters Marked As Permanently Shifted

Nearly 45.2 lakh electors in Telangana have been marked as permanently

shifted in the enumeration phase of the special intensive revision (SIR) of

electoral roll, accounting for more than three-fifths of the 73.39 lakh

enumeration forms classified as uncollectable.

Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharsan Reddy said the state has 3,38,26,448

electors, of whom enumeration forms for 2,64,87,214 (78.30 per cent) have

been digitised. Forms for another 73,39,234 electors (21.70 per cent) were

forms, 45,18,961 relate to electors listed as permanently shifted. This is

followed by 11,25,546 classified as absent or untraceable and 9,22,230

linked to deaths.

Another 6,70,203 forms were categorised as already enrolled, while 1,02,294

fell under the “Others” category. The figures are part of the status of

electors following completion of the enumeration phase under the SIR. The

figures show that the largest category among the uncollectable forms is that

of electors recorded as having permanently shifted, followed by those who

were absent or untraceable.
