Telangana Signs Pact With IndiGo CSR Arm to Support Female Pilot Aspirants
The Telangana Intermediate Education Department has partnered with IndiGoReach and BharatCares to support female students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds in pursuing commercial pilot training.
The intermediate education department signed MoU with IndiGoReach, the CSR arm of IndiGo, through its implementation partner BharatCares (SMEC Trust), to promote aviation career opportunities for female students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
The department will disseminate ‘Giving Wings to Fly’ programme information across intermediate colleges and student networks, while BharatCares will provide outreach materials, webinars, and counselling support. Eligible students will be encouraged to apply via the official portal: indigoreachgwf.scholarsbox.in.
The programme will provide support for commercial pilot licence (CPL) training with ATR type rating, including accommodation, meals, medical insurance, mentorship, and career guidance. The initiative spans approximately 20 months and is designed to empower eligible female Indian citizens to become licensed commercial pilots.
Intermediate education department director Abhilasha Abhinav, said “We are opening doors for students from economically weaker sections to pursue aviation careers.”
