Telangana Records 92.24% Pass In CBSE Class 12

Girls outperformed boys, recording 95.16 per cent, which is 5.65 per cent higher than boys

HYDERABAD: Telangana registered a 92.24 per cent pass percentage in the CBSE Class 12 examinations, the results of which were declared on Wednesday. The overall national pass percentage stood at 85.20 per cent, reflecting a decline compared to last year.

Girls outperformed boys, recording 95.16 per cent, which is 5.65 per cent higher than boys, who secured 89.51 per cent. From the state, 5,908 boys and 5,518 girls appeared for the examination.

Management wise, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) recorded 99.08 per cent, Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) achieved 98.66 per cent, government schools secured 93.26 per cent, independent schools 91.68 per cent, and Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) registered 89.93 per cent.

Nationally, the pass percentage declined by 3.19 per cent compared to last year’s 88.39 per cent. According to CBSE, a total of 17,68,968 students appeared and 15,07,109 passed this year.

For the first time, answer books were evaluated through On Screen Marking (OSM), enabling evaluation across the country and abroad without physically shifting scripts. Using OSM, CBSE evaluated 98,66,622 answer books, a move officials said improved efficiency and transparency.

The board announced that supplementary examinations will be held on July 15. Students wishing to improve performance in one subject and those placed in the compartment category are eligible. Candidates from the 2025 batch placed in the compartment category can also apply.

Schools must submit lists of candidates for the supplementary examinations from June 2, and the board has made it clear that no applications will be accepted after the deadline.

Dr Sanyam Bhardwaj, controller of examinations, advised schools and students to strictly adhere to the schedule, stressing that timely compliance is essential to avoid disqualification.
