Telangana Police Win 12 Medals at National Meet
The contingent secured one gold, four silver and seven bronze medals across badminton and table tennis categories for gazetted and non‑gazetted officers.
Hyderabad:Telangana police personnel returned with 12 medals from the 2nd All India Police Badminton and Table Tennis Cluster Championship 2025‑26 in Lucknow. Director-General of Police C.V. Anand congratulated the players and officials at his office on Friday for their performance at the national‑level event held from May 9 to 13.
The contingent secured one gold, four silver and seven bronze medals across badminton and table tennis categories for gazetted and non‑gazetted officers.
Trainee DSPs Neha Purohit and P. Latheefa Asha won gold in the open women doubles badminton event. Latheefa Asha added two silver medals in the open mixed doubles and women singles, partnering ACP Kothakishan Rao in the mixed doubles. ACPs Macha Srinivasa Rao and Pendyala Srinivas won silver in the 45+ men doubles category.
Bronze medals came through several badminton and table tennis events, with ACP Devineni Dhana Laxmi, ACP Macha Srinivasa Rao, ACP P. Kasi Reddy, DSP Vashamshetti Madhavi, ACP D. Prasanna Lakshmi and Neha Purohit among the winners. ACP Katta Hari Prasad and Madhavi also won silver in table tennis mixed doubles.
Inspector-general of police (sports) Dr Gajarao Bhupal, coaches and team officials accompanied the medal winners during their meeting with the DGP. Inspector B. James Babu, who won bronze at the India Open Shooting Competition in Bhopal, also met the DGP.
