NIZAMABAD: Balkonda police booked a case against a man for allegedly riding a motorbike fitted with a modified silencer that caused excessive noise and public nuisance during late-night hours.
Police said they noticed the rider moving through the streets at night while creating loud noise, causing inconvenience and fear among residents. The rider was taken into custody and the motorbike was seized after a case was registered for public nuisance and noise pollution.
Commissioner of police P. Sai Chaitanya said silencers producing excessive noise or modified in violation of prescribed rules were not permitted.
He warned that police would not tolerate motorists causing public nuisance, particularly at night, by riding vehicles with excessively loud exhaust systems. Police officials had been instructed to keep a special watch on vehicles fitted with illegal or modified silencers and initiate legal action against violators.
The commissioner said maintaining a peaceful environment for residents and controlling noise pollution, especially during night hours, were among the police department’s responsibilities. He appealed to motorists to follow traffic regulations and avoid riding vehicles in a manner that causes inconvenience to the public.
