HYDERABAD: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Tuesday said the state was “on the brink of absolute chaos”, and claimed that the proof of this was an attack on his staff inside a police station.
Rama Rao told reporters in New Delhi that his PRO, Mahesh Mudiraj, and PA Mahender Reddy, were attacked inside the Saifabad police station on Monday. He alleged that those who attacked his staff were either goons, or police personnel in plain clothes. “Despite repeated requests by our senior party no FIR was registered. The Congress government is frustrated and is taking out its frustrations on us trying to divert attention from its failures,” he said.
Expressing apprehensions that attacks on BRS leaders and workers might rise in the days to come, Rama Rao said: “lynching does not always start with an act of killing, but could start with a carefully planned attack inside a police station in the presence of uniformed officials.”
He said just in the past week there was an attempt to attack BRS president and former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s house. “When I and other BRS leaders tried to reach the house, we were detained and an attempt was made to attack us at the police station where we were held. And yesterday, around 15 people tried to attack my staff inside a police station,” Rama Rao said.
