Telangana Intermediate Education Dept Holds Orientation on Samagra Shiksha Grants, POSH Act
According to the directorate, Samagra Shiksha has sanctioned ₹24.84 crore as composite school grants for 418 Government Junior Colleges, ₹20 crore for computer rooms in 80 colleges, ₹1.90 crore for toilets in 40 colleges, ₹1.68 crore for vocational tools and equipment, ₹1.04 crore for sports grants covering 416 colleges, ₹41.8 lakh for libraries, ₹10.45 lakh for Eco Clubs under Mission LiFE and ₹2.09 lakh for drug abuse awareness programmes. The scheme also provides transport and escort allowances and other support for Children with Special Needs (CwSN)
HYDERABAD: The Directorate of Intermediate Education (DIE) on Monday conducted a one‑day orientation programme for district officers (DIEOs) and principals of government junior colleges on the implementation of Samagra Shiksha interventions, fund utilisation and the SNA‑SPARSH financial management portal.
The programme focused on financial procedures, transparency, monitoring and timely implementation of grants sanctioned for government junior colleges.

The programme also included two sessions on the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act). Trainers Jyothi, a certified POSH trainer, and Supriya Kakarla, Founder of Rewire360 and a certified POSH and Pocso Act trainer, spoke on legal provisions, institutional responsibilities, psychological safety and gender sensitivity.
The Directorate said the initiative is aimed at improving financial management, strengthening institutional accountability and creating safe, inclusive and student‑centric government junior colleges across Telangana.
