Telangana HC Disqualifies Danam Nagender as MLA

Hyderabad: Telangana High Court (HC) on Friday disqualified Danam Nagender as an MLA, setting aside Assembly Speaker's decision dismissing disqualification petitions against him.
The court declared that Danam Nagender stood disqualified as a member of the Telangana Legislative Assembly with effect from April 23, 2024, under Paragraph 2(1)(a) of the Tenth Schedule to the Constitution, which deals with disqualification on the ground of voluntarily giving up membership of a political party.
