Hyderabad: The Telangana government has announced an ex-gratia payment of ₹5 lakh for the next of kin of each victim of the fire accident that occured at a building in Gulzar Houz near Charminar on Sunday morning. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, accompanied by Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Damodara Raja Narasimha, inspected the accident site on the directions of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

Speaking to the media, the Deputy Chief Minister expressed deep anguish over the tragic incident and extended condolences to the families of the deceased. “Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is coordinating with all concerned departments to monitor the situation. Preliminary reports indicate the fire was caused by a short circuit,” he said.
The fire department received a distress call at 6:16 AM, and by 6:17 AM, the Moghalpura fire engine crew was dispatched, reaching the site by 6:20 AM to commence rescue operations. “A total of 11 fire engines and a firefighting robot were deployed, with 70 fire personnel involved. Their swift response helped control the severity of the incident before it could escalate further,” Bhatti stated. He described the incident as deeply unfortunate and assured that the government would stand by the victims’ families.
