TPCC extended executive meeting.

Hyderabad: Newly appointed AICC in-charge for Telangana, Meenakshi Natarajan, who replaced Deepa Das Munsi, made a strong impression on her first day in office with her simplicity and straightforward communication with party leaders. She said that the Congress is now in power in Telangana, but it was only when smiles appear on the faces of the poor can the party truly claim to have performed well.

She said BRS and BJP were two sides of the same coin and asked party leaders and cadre to continue the battle against both the two.

She attended the TPCC extended meeting which was also attended by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, ministers, MLAs, MLCs, MPs, and senior party leaders.

Natarajan reiterated the party’s commitment to working for the poor and ensuring effective implementation of government initiatives. She lauded the party workers for their unwavering fighting spirit, attributing the party’s victory in Telangana to their relentless efforts over the past decade.

She reminded the gathering of the core ideals of the Congress, citing Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra as a movement to protect the Constitution. She urged continued resistance against the BJP and BRS, reinforcing Congress’s historical role in the country’s freedom struggle and its readiness to face any challenges ahead.
Highlighting the efforts of the Congress-led government in Telangana, she stressed the need for effective delivery of welfare schemes and developmental programs.
Natarajan noted that Telangana had conducted caste census surveys—an achievement unmatched elsewhere in the country. She emphasised the importance of grassroots-level outreach and instructed the party cadre to widely organise 'Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan' programmes in every village. To streamline party activities, she urged the PCC to draft a structured calendar to ensure systematic engagement at all levels.
Underlining her hands-on leadership approach, Natarajan assured party workers that she would personally take their phone calls and address their concerns. She cautioned leaders against relying solely on banners and posters, urging them instead to be actively present among the people to secure electoral victories.

In a display of humility, Natarajan instructed party leaders not to gather at railway stations to receive her on her arrival or assist her with personal tasks like carrying luggage bags.

Dismissing internal conflicts, She stated that differences of opinion exist in any party but assured that every perspective would be given its due place within the Congress.
Upon her arrival at the Kachiguda railway station, Congress members were astonished as there was no fanfare and no grand welcome. TPCC chief B. Mahesh Kumar Goud welcomed her with a party scarf. There were no bouquets or garlands.
Natarajan holds a crucial position within Rahul Gandhi's core team. He is said to have personally chosen her for the task of streamlining Congress in Telangana.
