Vakiti Srihari Distributes Assistive Devices to Persons with Disabilities in Narayanpet
The Minister distributed 34 retro-fitted motor vehicles, nine battery wheelchairs, eight laptops and tricycles distributed free of cost to beneficiaries
Hyderabad: Minister for Sports, Dairy Development, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Vakiti Srihari on Friday distributed assistive devices to persons with disabilities under the aegis of the Telangana State Disabled Cooperative Corporation in Narayanpet.
He distributed 34 retro-fitted motor vehicles, nine battery wheelchairs, eight laptops and tricycles distributed free of cost to beneficiaries. Following the distribution program, the Minister visited various departmental stalls set up at the venue and reviewed the services and initiatives being implemented for public welfare.
At the SERP fish stall, the Minister tasted fish fry prepared by women’s groups and appreciated their efforts in promoting livelihood opportunities through fisheries.
During his visit to the Horticulture and Sericulture Department stall, Srihari reviewed details regarding palm oil cultivation and directed officials to ensure that palm oil procurement centers are made available in every mandal to support farmers effectively.
Narayanpet Collector Ch Priyanka explained to the Minister the various welfare initiatives and development activities being implemented in the district for the benefit of persons with disabilities and rural communities.
