Khammam: The Bhadrachalam Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple is witnessing Sri Ramanavami celebrations, marked by the vibrant wedding ceremony of Lord Rama. Devotees from the Telugu states have gathered in large numbers, filling the temple premises with chants of Rama's name. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is scheduled to present silk robes to the Lord on behalf of the state government and participate in witnessing the sacred wedding. Minister Konda Surekha and Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari are already present at the venue. Extensive security measures have been implemented, with police forces deployed around the temple to ensure safety.
The wedding rituals commenced at 10:30 a.m. in the Mithila Mandapam and are set to continue until 12:30 p.m. The ceremonies feature the chanting of Vedic mantras, reaching a peak during the auspicious Abhijit lagna, when a traditional mixture of cumin, jaggery, and cumin is placed on the heads of Sita and Rama, symbolizing prosperity. Following the Talambra ceremony, the Brahma Bandhan ritual, also known as Brahmamudi, is conducted. The newlywed divine couple receives blessings through the chanting of the Chaturveda.
