Adilabad: Ramagundam police commissioner Ambar Kishor Jha on Friday informed that a special investigation team (SIT) was set up under the leadership of ACP of CCS to transparently investigate the incidents of clashes between two groups of Congress under Dandepalli police limits recently.
The two groups, led by local MLA K. Premsagar Rao and M. Jagan Mohan Rao, allegedly backed by minister Gaddam Vivek and Peddapalli MP Vamsi Krisna, clashed during the Saddula Bathukamma and Dasara. A group of Congress leaders led by Jaganmohan Rao a few days ago met DGP C.V. Anand and submitted a memorandum on the incidents.
In a statement issued here, Commissioner Jha said the SIT will visit a few places, where clashes took place, interact with the victims and eyewitnesses and collect technical proofs.
He said police are on duty round the clock to ensure safety and security for the people under the Dandepalli and Mancherial police station limits and are taking preventive measures to avoid untoward incidents. He appealed to the people not to believe in the rumours being spread on social media and to believe only the information shared by the police department.
