Srinivas Reddy said several valuable government properties had remained under litigation for decades due to inadequate monitoring and coordination in the past.
Hyderabad: Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Friday described the Supreme Court verdicts in Miyapur and the Kancha Gachibowli land disputes as significant victories for Telangana, saying the government would not compromise on reclaiming valuable public properties. He said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was personally monitoring efforts to resolve decades-old disputes by strengthening coordination among revenue officials, the law department and government advocates to effectively defend the state's ownership claims in courts.
Srinivas Reddy said several valuable government properties had remained under litigation for decades due to inadequate monitoring and coordination in the past. The Congress government was examining old land records, revenue documents and legal issues to establish ownership and resolve the disputes. He recalled that the Supreme Court had delivered a favourable verdict to the state in the dispute involving 400 acres at Kancha Gachibowli. The recent verdict in the Miyapur land case was another significant outcome of the government's efforts to reclaim public property locked in litigation for nearly two decades.
He attributed the outcomes to the Chief Minister's initiative and coordinated efforts by the Revenue Department, legal experts and government advocates, whom he congratulated for effectively presenting the state's case.
