Hyderabad: Ranga Reddy district Collector C Narayan Reddy on Saturday announced an ex-gratia of Rs.5 lakh to the kin of the three women including a minor girl murdered in Shahbad on Friday night.

Speaking to the villagers and relatives of the three women, he said the Sub-Inspector has been placed under suspension for allegedly being negligent in handling the POCSO case and announced Rs.5 lakh ex-gratia and assured stern action against the accused.

As the minor girl’s elder sister is differently-abled, the administration would take necessary steps in admitting her either in the government-run disabled institute or a private one. In response to the Collector’s announcement, the villagers demanded that the State government pay Rs.25 lakh as compensation for which officials assured that they would look into it.
