Accident-Free Power Distribution System is Our Goal: Patil
Patil emphasized that safety should not remain confined to manuals and regulations but must become a part of every employee’s daily work culture
Hyderabad: With the objective of completely eliminating electrical accidents, strengthening the safety of field-level employees, and promoting the adoption of modern technologies and safety equipment, the Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) organized “Suraksha 2026 – Safety Expo and Workshop” at its corporate office, Mint Compound, Hyderabad.
TGSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director, Jitesh V. Patil inaugurated the conference. Speaking on the occasion, the CMD stated that the life of every employee working in the power distribution system is invaluable to the organization and that there should be absolutely no room for negligence or overconfidence in matters relating to safety.
He emphasized that safety should not remain confined to manuals and regulations but must become a part of every employee’s daily work culture.
He noted that Foremen, Line Inspectors, Linemen, and other field-level personnel from all 21 Circles of TGSPDCL play a crucial role in preventing electrical accidents. Foremen should lead their teams and supervise the implementation of safety standards, while Line Inspectors should ensure strict compliance with safety protocols at every work site. Just as a military commander is responsible for the safety of his troops, Foremen and Line Inspectors must take responsibility for the safety of their teams, he said.
The CMD stressed that before commencing any work, employees must ensure that the power supply has been completely isolated and verify the absence of reverse feeding or supply through alternate sources such as inverters, UPS systems, generators, or other backup power arrangements. He cautioned that overconfidence in electrical work is extremely dangerous and advised employees to verify all safety precautions before beginning any task.
