Hyderabad: GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL) has been honoured with the prestigious ‘National Energy Leader’ Award for the eighth consecutive year at the 27th edition of the CII National Awards for Excellence in Energy Management 2026.

The GHIAL was also recognized as an ‘Excellent Energy Efficient Unit’ for the tenth consecutive year, further reinforcing its sustained focus on energy management and conservation.

The CII National Awards for Excellence in Energy Management is one of India’s leading platforms recognizing organizations for excellence in energy efficiency, energy management and sustainability.

The awards recognize organizations that demonstrate measurable progress, innovation and commitment towards improving energy performance and adopting sustainable practices. This year, the awards saw participation from over 700 companies from across the country and were held from 16–18 September 2026 in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad Airport has consistently focused on integrating energy efficiency and sustainability into its airport operations. Through the adoption of innovative technologies, energy conservation measures, renewable energy and efficient operational practices, the airport continues to optimize energy consumption while reducing its environmental impact.

Speaking on the achievement, Kadhir Kadhiravan, CEO, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd., said, “Sustainability is an integral part of how we operate and our commitment to energy efficiency is driven by the belief that responsible growth and a seamless passenger experience must go hand in hand.”
