Hyderabad: Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) Commissioner T Vinay Krishna Reddy on Monday conducted a field inspection at Nagole Circle and reviewed pending works across engineering, sanitation, entomology, UCD, and EPTRI.

During the inspection, the Commissioner noticed a citizen disposing of pooja waste into a nala connected to the lake. Instead of treating it merely as a violation, he personally interacted with the citizen and explained how such dumping can block drains, obstruct water flow and lead to water stagnation, ultimately affecting the health of our lakes and neighbourhoods.

The citizen was also made aware of the project Udvasana, through which old idols and photo frames can be respectfully handed over at designated collection points every Saturday, while other pooja materials can be placed through the designated waste-collection system.
