Revanth Full Of Lies, Will Be Made To Pay For Defamation: Harish

HYDERABAD: Former minister and BRS Assembly deputy floor leader T. Harish Rao on Saturday challenged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to an open debate on the farm loan waiver, Rythu Bandhu and employment. He said Revanth Reddy had become “the only Chief Minister to speak blatant lies on Independence Day,” instead of using the occasion to speak about Telangana’s development.
“He chose personal attacks. I will not let anyone who does this get away with it. Revanth Reddy will have to face defamation charges,” Harish Rao said at a press conference in Siddipet, after the Chief Minister’s speech at an event in Sangareddy. “All Revanth Reddy did was indulge in political rhetoric. Incidentally, the Congress manifesto contained 420 promises and Revanth Reddy’s speech began exactly at 4.20 pm,” he said.
Revanth Reddy, who said no new ration cards were issued during the BRS rule, contradicted his own government’s submissions to the Assembly that 6,47,479 ration cards were issued when BRS was in power, Harish Rao added. He called on the government to convene the Assembly for debates on all these issues and stop making unsubstantiated claims at public meetings.
On welfare schemes, Harish Rao said fee reimbursement dues were pending for two and a half years, and that women enrolled under the Mahalakshmi scheme were owed nearly ₹80,000 each. Rythu Bandhu disbursements dropped sharply under the Congress government, and of the Rs 35,000 crore allocated for the farm loan waiver, only Rs 20,000 crore had actually been released. Harish Rao said he would resign if every eligible farmer in the Chief Minister’s own village received the promised waiver, and asked whether Revanth Reddy would do the same if proved wrong.
