Hyderabad:A DNB Microbiology resident at KIMS Hospitals, Secunderabad, has approached the Telangana High Court alleging workplace harassment, caste and religious discrimination, and denial of access to essential training facilities.

In her petition, the resident stated that departmental work allocation stopped in November 2025 and access to the microbiology laboratory was restricted from April 2026, affecting her training and thesis work. She also alleged that two residents had previously left the department under similar circumstances.

The petition challenged a handwritten document allegedly given to her by the Head of Department, containing psychiatric descriptions such as “thought disorder” and “mental instability.” The resident objected to the basis for these remarks and alleged that the document was intended to damage her professional prospects.

She further accused some senior doctors of making caste and religion‑related remarks, isolating her professionally, and pressuring her to resign. Audio recordings concerning the allegations were reportedly submitted to the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS).

According to the petitioner, on September 18, 2026, NBEMS directed the institution to provide academic support, assist with training and thesis completion, and ensure a conducive learning environment.

The High Court has issued notice to the respondent before admitting the petition.
