Hyderabad: Shanta Sriram Constructions Private Limited has contended that it is the rightful owner and developer of 40 acres of land forming part of Survey No.s 1 and 2 of Lothkunta here.
In a rejoinder to the report ‘People flag blasting of rocks near Ammuguda’, published in these columns on June 22, the company said courts on different occasions had ruled that the land was a private patta land and did not belong to the state government or defence organisations. The company also maintained that there was no habitat or wildlife on the land.
DC correspondent replies:
We stand by our report which highlighted the local residents’ concerns over ecological damage being done to the area. The report referred to residents’ request to maintain the ecological balance even if the land belonged to private persons.
