Reality, Govt Claims on Rythu Bharosa Don't Match, Say Harish, KTR

HYDERABAD: The BRS on Tuesday alleged that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka were presenting different figures with regard to the money spent on farmer welfare.

Senior BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao, in a statement, said: “While Bhatti said that `1.56 lakh crore had been spent for farmers by the Congress government so far, Revanth Reddy claimed that `1.75 lakh crore had been spent for this purpose. Whose figures are true?”

He said: “if the Budget allocations for the agriculture sector up to March 31, 2027, were only around `82,000 crore, then how come the amounts claimed by them were spent by June 2026? Are they fabricating figures to mislead farmers?”

Harish Rao said the BRS was ready for a debate on farmers welfare, not only in the Assembly but on any platform of Revanth Reddy’s choice “to expose how promises made to farmers have been abandoned, and how they were deceived by the Congress.”

BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, in another statement, said ⁠after denying farmers `30,000 crore, the Chief Minister was staging “dramas”. Releasing Rythu Bharosa assistance merely required the government to transfer funds directly into farmers' accounts, yet the Congress government had chosen to organise extravagant public meetings for publicity.

“While farmers are struggling with procurement issues, shortage of urea and the looming threat of drought, the Chief Minister is busy conducting celebratory events instead of addressing their problems,” Rama Rao alleged.
