Hyderabad: AICC leader Rahul Gandhi is likely to visit Hyderabad on Saturday to witness the ‘friendly match’ between football icon Lionel Messi’s team and the squad led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at the Uppal stadium, according to party sources.
Official sources in the Chief Minister’s Office clarified that no confirmation had been received from Rahul Gandhi regarding his participation in the event.
Revanth Reddy had extended a formal invitation to Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi during his Delhi visit on Wednesday, where he met them at a private gathering hosted at the residence of NCP(SP) chief and MP Sharad Pawar. The CM requested both leaders to attend the high-profile sporting event featuring Messi.
Party insiders indicated that Rahul Gandhi is expected to fly to Hyderabad on Saturday evening to watch the match, which has generated significant buzz due to Messi’s presence and the Chief Minister’s involvement on the field.
