Ponguleti Wants Collectors to Evict Land Grabbers
Ponguleti suggested that revenue land be transferred to the defence ministry where necessary, and alternative land be taken from them in return, and also that revenue land be handed over to the Waqf Board.
Hyderabad: Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Monday directed collectors to take tough legal action against encroachers and take the land back into government control by evicting them.
Srinivas Reddy along with minister Mohammed Azharuddin and Jubilee Hills MLA Naveen Yadav reviewed the implementation of promises made in the Jubilee Hills constituency during the bypolls, especially related to cemeteries.
The revenue minister said that for decades, minorities in Borabanda, Erragadda, and Shaikpet areas of the Jubilee Hills constituency have been facing difficulties due to the lack of cemeteries. He instructed the officials to resolve this problem as quickly as possible through coordination with the defence ministry, revenue department, and Waqf Board.
The minister suggested that revenue land be transferred to the defence ministry where necessary, and alternative land be taken from them in return, and also that revenue land be handed over to the Waqf Board.
Srinivas Reddy said that attempts were made to encroach upon government land, which should be used for the welfare of the poor, public needs, and development programs, for the selfish interests of a few individuals, and that such actions will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
