Police-Public Campaign Targets Road Safety, CCTV Plan, Drug Abuse in Mahbubabad
Several villages have passed resolutions to restrict entry of motorcyclists without helmets from April 2 as part of the campaign
WARANGAL: Mahbubabad district superintendent of police Shabarish thanked sarpanches and municipal councillors for their cooperation in promoting road safety, village security and anti-drug initiatives.
Addressing a video conference with local representatives and police officials, he said the campaign was evolving into a public movement under the slogan ‘Our Village–Our Responsibility’.
Launched two weeks ago, the initiative initially covered 42 gram panchayats and 13 municipal wards. Police teams, including CIs and SIs, conducted door-to-door surveys to assess helmet usage among two-wheeler riders. He said helmet use protects lives and families.
Several villages have passed resolutions to restrict entry of motorcyclists without helmets from April 2 as part of the campaign.
The SP also highlighted the ‘Our Village under CCTV Surveillance’ initiative to strengthen rural security and prevent crime. He said local leaders were identifying individuals with substance dependence and facilitating rehabilitation.
He commended police personnel for implementing the programme and urged the public to avoid drugs and follow safety measures.
