PM Modi Strengthened India’s Global Standing, Boosted Democracy and Development, Says Nadda
He charged the previous BRS administration with similar corruption over projects such as Kaleshwaram and double-bedroom housing.
Hyderabad:Union health minister J.P. Nadda said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had not only strengthened India internally by redefining politics and democracy with a focus on development as against scams and corruption by earlier governments, but had also raised the nation’s global standing.
Speaking as chief guest at a talk, ‘Democracy — Diplomacy — Development’, organised by the Forum for Nationalist Thinkers here, Nadda praised Modi for ushering revolutionary changes in India’s political culture, replacing legacy and appeasement politics with a focus on development and accountability.
Listing Centre allocations to Telangana, he accused the Congress government of treating Telangana’s funds like an ‘ATM’, allegedly shifting public money to Delhi. He charged the previous BRS administration with similar corruption over projects such as Kaleshwaram and double-bedroom housing.
Nadda highlighted the expansion of Indian Railways under Modi’s leadership, noting that a network was now carrying 800 crore passengers annually and had been extended to remote northeastern areas in Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram. He said India had become a reliable partner to neighbouring countries, supplying railway technology and locomotives to Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and Myanmar. During the Covid crisis, India had provided vaccines to 100 countries, 45 of them for free, showcasing India as a giving nation under the “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” spirit.
On domestic achievements, Nadda said 4.3 lakh kilometres of rural roads had been built and the rural digital revolution had empowered ordinary citizens. He said direct benefit transfers totalling `51 lakh crore reached beneficiaries’ accounts and claimed that the measure had prevented `4.3 lakh crore of leakages. Under Swachh Bharat, 12 crore toilets were constructed, improving women’s dignity, and the goal of creating three crore ‘Lakhpati Didi’ had produced 17.17 lakh beneficiaries in Telangana alone.
He underlined the reach of Ayushman Bharat, calling it the world’s largest health insurance scheme that provides up to `5 lakh of free coverage to 62 crore people, and noted the launch of the Vayo Vandana Yojana to provide free healthcare for citizens above 70. Nadda also announced that AIIMS Bibinagar in Telangana is being developed into a world-class medical centre with nearly `1,000 crore investment, 22 modular operation theatres and over 1,000 beds.
Pointing to strengthened internal security through improved intelligence system, he said Naxalism has been reduced from 126 districts to just two. He claimed India is now among the fastest-growing major economies.
