Hyderabad: With a firm objective to eradicate illicit drug trafficking and anti-social activities in the city, the Hyderabad police executed a massive joint cordon and search operation, named 'Operation Thunderbolt', in the early hours of Thursday.
Under the guidance of Commissioner of Police VC Sajjanar the operation was executed with high tactical precision in Manganri Basti under the jurisdiction of Habeebnagar police station.
The extensive sanitization sweep involved close coordination among various specialized wings of the city police. During the thorough checks, operating teams successfully identified and took several law-breakers into custody, including property offenders, chain snatchers, habitual offenders, and persons with pending Non-Bailable Warrants (NBW).
The search teams successfully made the following illegal item seizures: 150 ganja sachets, 32-cough syrup bottles, dry ganja 1kg, and liquor bottles seized; property offenders, snatchers, and NBW pending suspects, 15 drug offender, 50 suspect property offenders taken into custody.
