Hyderabad: Telangana Director General of Police C.V. Anand on Wednesday said the police would take a stricter approach towards law enforcement, stating: “no more friendly policing we respect people. not bullies and hooligans.”
He said Maoism was no longer present in the state and that 1,700 personnel from the Greyhounds force were being redeployed to other departments across Telangana.
The DGP said stringent measures were being taken to curb drug-related offences and flagged cybercrime as an emerging challenge for the police.
